Our Ecwid by Lightspeed review
Ecwid takes a different approach from every other platform here: instead of being your website, it's a shopping cart you embed into a site you already have. Drop a snippet into WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, a static HTML page, or even a social profile, and the same synchronized catalog appears everywhere at once.
That makes it the natural choice when you've already invested in a site and simply need to start selling. The free-forever plan is genuinely usable for small catalogs, setup takes minutes, and the same products can be sold across marketplaces and social channels without duplicating work.
The limitations follow from the model. Ecwid isn't a standalone site builder, so your design control depends on the host site, and the most useful features — larger catalogs, automated tax, advanced tools — are gated behind paid tiers. As a bolt-on cart, though, it's one of the fastest and most flexible options available.

The verdict
Ecwid is the best way to bolt commerce onto a site you already love. It won't replace a dedicated storefront, but for adding a synced, multichannel cart with almost no effort — and a real free tier — it's tough to beat.
